Post Graduate Diploma in Management often abbreviated as PGDM is one of the most sought-after academic programs in India and enjoys considerable popularity over other courses.
PGDM programs in India is considered equivalent to MBA, the major difference being that the former is a diploma awarded by an autonomously established institutes while the latter is a degree-based program awarded by those of the institutes/colleges affiliated to an established university passed by a single statutory act of legislature or otherwise. PGDM courses are usually a two-year course broadly divided in six terms. The courses are recognized and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). It is mandatory to appear for an entrance test like CMAT/ CAT/ MAT/ GMAT/ XAT/ Others and with a good academic background in order to qualify for admission. The curriculum includes a classroom-based method of teaching with regular exams, project work, seminar and a part-time internship program also known as summer internship program (SIP).During second year of the two-year course, students are likely to get Pre Placement Offer (PPO) which is an offer of full-time work.
